This week's challenge theme is: GESTURE DRAWING
Prompts are icebreakers to get you started on this week's topic, and will include exercises for study and/or just for fun! Try out as many or as few as you like. Remember, the more you practice, the better you become!
This weeks prompts are primarily focused on practicing gesture. Gesture may seem like simple flowing lines, but it can actually be tricky to adjust to and takes some practice! The hardest part is to remember to loosen up, don't be too concerned with anatomical accuracy, just with the movement of the pose you are trying to sketch. Once you get into a groove, gestures will start to flow easier.
I recommend checking out the videos on gesture drawing linked below before starting your practices, particularly if you are new to gesture drawing.
Check out the Figure and Gesture Drawing Tool (or Posemaniacs), and do at least 20 mins worth of 30 second gesture sketches. With the gesture drawing tool, you have photographs of human subjects to sketch. You can choose if you do or don't want to see nudity as well the gender you want to draw. In Posemaniacs, you have anatomical renderings in a variety of poses. Choose whichever site you prefer, or use both!
Once you are warmed up with the 30 second gestures, feel free to do long poses of 60 seconds, for at least 10 minutes. (I recommend trying out class mode in the Figure and Gesture Drawing Tool !)
Choose the best gesture from your practices and turn it into a painting. Maybe an action pose turns into a knight charging into battle, or a mage casting a spell. Do what inspires you!

Week 7 - Catch Up Week!
Due to me being rather busy this week and last, I wasnt able to do research for this weeks challenge theme. Sorry! D: So for now, this week will simply be a free week where you can do any prompts you may not have done from past weeks! A new theme will be up again for Week 8, promise! :aww:
Note: In the near future I will be looking for a co-founder to help run the group and come up with the challenges. It will make it easier to have one or two people moderating and generating content in case I (or another potential co-founder) have personal obligations :) Please let me know if you are interested via note!
